The walkthrough is fresh for about ten minutes. Then it is a job site, then it is lunch, then it is three days later and you are writing a quote from memory and a photo of a wall.
A voice memo does not solve this, because nobody plays voice memos back. You need a typed document.
Why it buys back your weekend
You get a typed document instead of a recording. The materials list is already pulled out and separated, so you paste it into the quote instead of rebuilding it. And the customer’s own words are in there, which is what makes a quote sound like it was written for them.
Do this
- Still in the truck, open the Gemini app and tap the microphone.
- Talk for 60 seconds. The address, what you saw, measurements, what the customer cared about, your rough number. Talk the way you would tell your foreman, not the way you would write it.
- Ask it: “Turn that into estimate notes with a materials list and next steps.”
- Send it to a document. On your phone, tap the share icon directly under the response, then Export to Docs. On a computer it is More → Export to Docs.

The Share control sits directly under the response
Then Export to Docs
The part people get wrong
Say the number out loud in the recording, even if it is rough. “Probably fourteen, maybe sixteen if the subfloor is soft.” That one sentence is the difference between notes you can quote from and notes you have to think about again.
If your screen looks different
The button has a different name in each place, and they all do the same thing. In the app on your phone it is a share icon with no label. In the app on a computer it says More. In a web browser, Share & export and More both work. Whichever you are looking at, Export to Docs is inside it.
Google moves this control, and it sits in a different spot on a phone than on a computer. If you do not see it, look for any share or More control directly under the response.
Next
- Put the estimate on the calendar before you hang up — The notes are written. Now make sure the appointment itself got booked.
- One shared photo album per job — Photos from the same walkthrough belong in one album, named for the address.

I am Betsy Walker. I do the work a busy owner never gets to: the website, the follow-up, the customer email, the reviews, the online listings. Nobody in your business was ever hired to do any of it, so it waits for you.
One piece at a time, done in a week or two at a price you know before I start, most of them between $550 and $850. Or I run it every month, so it stays done. I work remotely, so nobody has to show up at your shop.
